{Pinterest Party: Recap!}

Hi there! I hope you are all well this week! Life has been so busy that I haven't had much time to sew. The new products are still in the works, but it may be a little while before they hit the shop. Family first is my motto this days. I'll keep you posted!

I had the joy of attending a really fun Pinterest party last Saturday hosted by the fabulous Kyla of Funky Polka Dot Giraffe!

Our lunch was hosted by the wonderful Blaze Pizza in Irvine! Great food and fun ladies! I got the veggie pizza and the blood orange lemonade. So so good!

If you live in the Orange County area, go grab lunch at Blaze! It's right by the farmers market in Irvine.

Next up, we went over to Kyla's for an afternoon of fall crafting and munching.

I made stuffed figs. Bev from Flamingo Toes made pumpkin cookies that were out of this world good. And then we crafted!!! Kyla picked out some really fun things for us to make! That little wire pumpkin took like 2 minutes! So cute right!? And Julie from Joy's Hope taught me an embroidery stitch for my Boo hoop. I love how that turned out! I think I am going to spray paint the hoop orange and put it on my mantle!

Something incredibly therapeutic about sitting around with a group of friends and embroidering. Who knew!?! Ha!

....and we came home with some swag goodies too!!! Fun stuff from Much Ado About You, Pen and Paints, Little Penelope Lane, Munchies Mama and Pick Your Plum! So pumped!!!

Such a great day! I can't wait for the next one!

{InstaFriday}

Hi friends and happy Friday to you! I'm linking up with Jeannette for InstaFriday today! We've been up to lots of fun things! You can follow the happenings on Instagram too! @sewchatty
life rearranged
Carter started Karate!!! And he loves it! He's doing pretty well too! It's so fun to watch him learn something new.
I actually remembered to use my reusable bags at Trader Joe's! Yayee me! My new Market Totes will be listed in the shop next week!
Doing my best to eat well and move more! I only have about 4 lbs to get back to my happy weight, but it's taking FOREVER!!! I just want to be there already. Sigh. Getting older is lame.
Made a cute fabric insert for my iPhone clear case! I also wrote little tutorial for you all :) You can find it HERE.
Treated myself to a new bag for fall! I love Le Sport Sac! I am a big fan of bags with tons of pockets. I feel so organized when everything has a place. And this bag is big enough for the iPad too. Heart it!
I am a Philosophy girl through and through. Love their Pubity facial cleanser and their perfumes are to die for.  I knew I had to have these lip shines the second I saw them at the Rack! They are so fally and fabulous!
This is a Key Chain Clutch and Fob that I made for myself last week and I am LOVING IT! Perfect for quick errands, the gym, and drop off and pick up. All the times when I don't need to bring my whole big bag with me. These will be hitting shop SOON!

Have a great weekend everyone!

{DIY: Fabric iPhone Case}

Hi friends! I'm sharing a fun little tutorial with you today!

 I'm sort of obsessed with cute iPhone cases, but they are REALLY expensive so I'm showing you an awesome and inexpensive way to dress up your phone! Here we go!
 Supplies you need:
  • A clear case. I found mine at Nordstrom Rack and it was $8. It's plastic, not silicon or rubberized so you shouldn't have a problem with a case like this yellowing. If you don't have a Rack near you, try Marshall's, Ross, or TJ Maxx and I bet you'll find on on the cheap!
  • Fabric scraps
  • card stock
  • pencil
  • glue stick
  • tiny scissors/exacto blade
  • fray check is optional
 First you are going to trace your case onto card stock. Trace as many times as you want. I made 3. I like variety :) Trace the little hole for the camera too.
 Next, cut the shapes out. You'll cut out the tiny camera hole too. That part is a beast, sorry! I found it easiest to cut out the case shape then score the center of the little hole with the blade for my scissors to poke through, then carefully cut it out.

Once you have the inserts cut out, you will want to put it into the case to make sure it fits and to make sure the hole is in exactly the right place. You may have to fiddle with it and give it a little trim until it fits in the case properly.
 Now you will apply your glue to the card stock. Make sure you apply the glue to the correct side and that the little hole you very diligently cut out is now in the top left corner.
 Place your insert glue side down to the WRONG SIDE of your pretty fabric. I let the glue dry for a few minutes the cut around the edge. Then I cute out the little hole. Again, that part is a beast, but you'll get through it.
 This next part is optional, but for a neat finish, apply fray check to the edges making sure to get the edges of the camera hole as well. After it dries, snip away any loose threads.
 That's it! So pretty right!?! I think this one is my favorite!

Ta da! 4 brand new iPhone cases for $8 plus a few things you probalby already have lying around. I just saved you like $100 AT LEAST!

Happy crafting!

{Introducing TWO new fall products!}

Hi there! I hope your week is off to a great start! I was able to sit at Starbucks for a while yesterday and draft a few posts. Feels nice to get back into the swing of things distraction free! I think I will make Starbucks my new office and come at least once a week to get my posts written. At home, I have ADD and just can't force myself to sit down and write!!! I'll keep you posted on how it's working for me!

I'm so excited to be introducing TWO NEW Michelle Patterns to the shop this fall!

First up is the Key Chain Clutch

This is one of my very favorite patterns to make! This little Key Chain Clutch is perfect for quick errands or as your wallet in a bigger bag.
  The back pocket is large enough for your phone with a case on it and the front pocket is zippered so you don't have to worry about your cash, cards, or coins falling out! It also has a little ribbon tab to attach your matching key fob!

 I just love mine and have been taking it everywhere! I hope you'll love it too!

The next new product I'm introducing to the shop is...

 The Reusable Market Tote
This is a large bag! It's designed to be just like the plastic grocery bags but much prettier and environmentally friendly! They are made of designer cotton, but are lined with a sturdy canvas for lasting durability. Each seem is reinforced with a triple stitch so be assured that these bags will last a long time and you'll look super cute using them!

I'm really excited to finally be sewing for the shop again! I'm working hard on these products this week so I should have them listed in the shop for you soon!

Have a happy day!

Elizabeth
